The Believing Game

Tom Brady and The New England Patriots were accused of cheating by deflating the footballs during the 2015 AFC Championship game.  The debate on whether The Patriots cheated or not still goes on today.

Tom Brady’s Deflategate Scandal
During the 2015 NFL AFC Championship game, The Patriots were going against The Colts in an epic match up.  However the game is not the main point here, it is whether Tom Brady cheated or not.  I think Tom Brady cheated for number of reasons.  The Patriots used deflated footballs during the game so it would them an advantage against The Colts.  After many investigation on the deflated footballs during the game, Tom Brady ultimately forced himself to destroy his phone.  Now to me what he did meant that he needed to destroy his messages sent to the officials so the NFL would not find out.  Why else would he destroy his phone?  Another thing is that since The Patriots have smaller receivers, it would give them an advantage to use deflated footballs to make it easier to catch, also quarterbacks gets to choose the footballs they want to play with.   I am positive Tom Brady and The Patriots cheated considering the spygate a few years ago; cheaters will always be cheater.  In the end, I am glad The Patriots got fined one million dollars even though Tom Brady got off a four game suspension.

During the 2015 NFL AFC Championship game, The Patriots were going against The Colts in an epic match up.  However the game is not the main point here, it is whether Tom Brady cheated or not.  Of course Tom Brady did not cheat.  People really think the NFL’s former MVP and four time super bowl champion Tom Brady would cheat?  As a fan, I know Tom’s work ethic and the way he is built and cheating on a man’s game would never happen.  First of all, The Patriots beat The Colts 44-8, so whether the footballs were deflated or not The Patriots did not just beat them, they literally killed them.  I do not think the footballs were deflated at all considering an NFL official has to check the air in every single football before entering the stadium.  I guess when a team has become so dominant in a league for a very long time, people will come up with the most ridiculous scandal to bring them down.  We know Tom and would not cheat to win and personally I think the NFL's conviction on Tom is just disrespectful and wrong.  As Tom said in the media, "I have always played with the rules, and would never do anything to break the rules."

  1. I guess i should start out and say this i know nothing about Tom Brady and this issue. If i have to guess what side you are on I guess I would say that you don't believe he cheated. i am choosing this side because of your use of his quote to the media. I feel like you picked to use a quote because you believe what he has to say. This is a very hard decision and i am almost taking a shot in the dark. these are two very well written papers. Continue the good work!

  2. I'm taking the same stance as the previous reader. It seemed like the first paragraph was written with the intent of providing a later defense, and the language used within was intentionally accusatory. It is a difficult choice, and I may very well be wrong in my choosing, but I'm required to choose. Before I forget, no one "literally" was killed during the game. I know it's a common colloquialism now, so it tends to slip out.
